What’s the Process?

Step 1 - Plan - IEP Strategy Roadmap

The first step to solving your IEP problems is to review the available information and make a plan of action. I analyze your situation from a few different angles. First, I’m looking at the clinical and educational data to see if the current services in place are appropriate to meet your child’s needs. Next, I look for procedural violations. They happen more than you think!

Violations of your parental rights give you leverage in your negotiations with the school.

After this analysis, I’ll give you a plan of action to get the right services in place for your child. You’ll go from feeling confused and frustrated to have the tools you need to feel confident and empowered in your next IEP meeting.

Step 2 - Execute - IEP Problem Resolution

Once you have a plan of action, it’s time to execute. You will likely need to attend one more IEP meeting to get the necessary changes written into your child’s IEP. In this step, we help you to prepare for your IEP meetings by putting your concerns in writing and assisting you in developing your communication and negotiation strategies.

Step 3 - Monitor - IEP Problem Resolution

Even after the IEP meetings are finished, there’s still a bit more to be done. The IEP and all other documentation need to be reviewed for accuracy. If it’s not documented, it didn’t happen.

In this phase, I’ll fine-tooth comb your IEP and confirm that everything is documented correctly in the IEP. I’ll help you to monitor your child’s progress going forward so that you can finally enjoy this period of life with your child.
